Bilbao

Bilbao is the capital of the Vizcaya or Basque province. It is a huge industrial complex of connected cities, and was not much of a tourist destination until 1997. That is when the Guggenheim Foundation opened a new museum of modern art in the city. The building was designed by architect Frank Gehry, who said he was inspired by the shape of fish in his design. The building cost one hundred million dollars.
